Teresa Valerio Parrot, EdD, APR

Teresa Valerio Parrot is the Principal of TVP Communications, a full-service agency with client partners across the higher education landscape. She founded TVP Communications in 2011 and works with clients to identify distinctive narratives and connect them with their audiences through traditional and new methods that help them truly stand out from their peers.

Additionally, Parrot is co-host of the Trusted Voices podcast, and co-editor of the Call to Action blog for Inside Higher Ed.

Previously, Parrot served as senior vice president for Widmeyer Communications and vice president for SimpsonScarborough. She served almost 10 years at University of Colorado, including an officer-level appointment as Assistant Secretary of the University.

A PRSA member for more than a decade, Parrot has presented at the organization’s annual conference and Professional Interest Section events. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in public administration, both from the University of Colorado, and a doctorate from Southern Methodist University in higher education leadership and policy.

In addition to her role with the PRSA Board of Directors, Parrot serves on the board of KUNC public radio and the Colorado Sound, the board of SCFD, and is co-chair of the American Marketing Association's symposium for the advancement of higher education. She is a member of the Denver Ballet Guild.
