Michael Griebe, chief data officer at Hahn Labs, is a professional economist and statistician specializing in applying quantitative and economic analysis to practical business problems. He manages a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers to develop quantitative models to answer difficult questions. For the last 4 years, Michael has focused his team's effort on improving the statistical tools used by earned media professionals to measure the true success of earned media campaigns. Prior to that, Michael’s team focused on developing predictive analytics tools for marketing and communications more generally. The techniques at play are rooted in statistics and econometric methods, processing large amounts of information to understand how these efforts impact the behaviors of consumer populations.

Prior to working as a professional economist, Michael taught and studied economics at the University of Oxford. He has an MPhil from Oxford University and a B.A. from the University of Texas. He was the president of graduates at St Edmund Hall and a member of three Senior Common Rooms.
