William Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA (photo)
William Patrick McSweeney, APR, Fellow PRSA, uses the skills he learned as a journalist to help clients effectively connect with employees, customers, community leaders, investors, vendors and others. He serves as public relations strategist and counselor for C-suite executives, providing crisis communications planning, message development, media training and media relations assistance.

He has served as the spokesperson for a government agency in Florida as well as for Fortune 500 companies and worked with well-known automotive, high tech, retail brands, vacation destinations and others.

McSweeney earned the designation Accredited in Public Relations (APR) in 2011 and was inducted into PRSA's prestigious College of Fellows in 2015. He is co-chair of PRSA's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee and also 2023 chair for PRSA's Midwest District. He has served as president for the Southeastern Wisconsin chapter of PRSA (2018) and the North Florida chapter (1995 and 2013). 

Besides giving back through PRSA, he has served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Corporate Communication, PR writing and Writing for the Mass Media at Marquette University in Milwaukee and at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, as well as being a mentor to dozens of college students and young PR professionals.
McSweeney earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University. He is the father of two grown sons and lives with his college sweetheart, Jane, in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood.
