Carrie L. Strehlau
As a veteran in the public relations field, Carrie Strehlau harnesses the hashtags and helps organizations create authentic, persuasive and cohesive content across mediums. At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for more than 20 years, she ran the gamut of media relations, crisis communications and stakeholder relations. She founded the institution’s social media program, developing its architecture and scope. Under this strategy, she used social media storytelling to connect audiences with the lifesaving work unfolding in research labs and clinics each day. Employing photos, videos, infographics, live-streams, first-person accounts and more, she created and shared stories of discoveries and those responsible for them.
Carrie has also worked with nonprofit organizations including the Memphis Zoo, National Bleeding Disorders Foundation and Hands of Mothers, and companies like Social Cascade, assisting with their strategic communications efforts.
She has a passion for mentorship and knowledge-sharing and frequently presents at conferences organized by the Public Relations Society of America, PR News and Ragan Communications.
