What PR Pros Can Do Now to Plan DEI Content

Diversity, equity and inclusion. Belonging. D&I. Whatever you call it — DEI has become a key element of organizational communications, particularly in the past three years. As we start a new year, communicators have an opportunity to help bolster initiatives even as anti-DEI efforts have escalated in recent months across multiple sectors.
Many communicators have learned this work on the job and grown their expertise over the past few years. We’ve discovered ways to incorporate DEI messages into employee communications, external communications, executive communications and PR strategies. But simply slipping DEI into those communications reinforces the notion that DEI is a separate pursuit, or worse, a “nice extra.”
