PRSSA Establishes New Chapter at George Fox University

NEW YORK, May 26, 2022 – PRSSA, the foremost organization for students interested in the public relations and communications fields, announced today that George Fox University is the latest school to form a PRSSA Chapter. Located in Newberg, Oregon, George Fox University joins the nearly 375 PRSSA Chapters across the U.S., as well as Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico. The university, which is committed to providing students with personal attention and global opportunities to learn and serve, offers a supportive community that encourages academic rigor and spiritual growth.
The Communication major at George Fox University is housed under its Department of Communications and Cinematic Arts. As part of that major, students can select a concentration in public relations, organizational communication or human connection. Following graduation, students at George Fox University are prepared for careers in public relations, digital marketing, brand management and more.
The George Fox University Chapter will be supported by PRSA Oregon, helping foster student and professional connections by providing speakers, networking opportunities, career mentoring and other benefits.

Dr. Amanda Staggenborg, who joined George Fox University as an Assistant Professor of Public Relations in 2021, will serve as Faculty Adviser of the Chapter. Prior to her current position at George Fox University, she held several roles at Missouri Baptist University. Staggenborg has also done extensive public relations consulting and has traveled extensively to present on topics ranging from social media and public relations to sexual harassment in the media. She earned a Doctor of Education degree from Missouri Baptist University in 2018 and holds a master’s degree in public relations and bachelor’s degree in political science, both from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
