PRSSA Teams Up with Culturs, the Global Multicultural magazine, for Bateman Case Study Competition

Aug. 10, 2023
Every year, student members of PRSSA compete in the Bateman Case Study Competition where they research, plan and implement a public relations campaign. The Competition was founded as a national case study allowing members to exercise the analytical skills required for public relations problem solving.

The 2024 Competition will be focused on Culturs, and task students with creating awareness of the magazine on college campuses and its mission to enhance community and foster human connection of culturally fluid communities of multiethnic, multicultural, mixed race and geographically mobile people which includes immigrants, refugees and Third Culture Kids. Culturs activates 21st century cultural Diversity, because everyone should feel like they matter.

Students will execute their full-scale campaigns in early 2024 with the winners being selected before the end of the 2023-24 school year. Entries will be judged by communications executives, academics and student advisers.

Originating in 1973, the name of the Competition was changed in 1983 to honor the memory of the late J. Carroll Bateman, APR. Bateman was a past president of PRSA and was instrumental in the founding of PRSSA.
