PRSSA To Launch New Chapter at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

NEW YORK, December 19, 2024 - PRSSA today announced it will be establishing a new Chapter at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC). The Chapter will launch with over 20 students interested in the study of public relations and/or communications. Dr. Michelle Maresh- Fuehrer, Department Chair & Professor of Public Relations and Dr. Sining Kong, Public Relations Minor Coordinator & Assistant Professor of Public Relations, will serve as faculty advisers.
Support for the Chapter will be provided by PRSA San Antonio and Teresa Henderson, who will serve as professional adviser.
Within the Department of Communication & Media at TAMU-CC, students can choose a public relations minor that provides students with a skill set in public relations writing, research, strategy, and crisis communication. The curriculum includes required courses Introduction to Public Relations, Media Performance, Public Relations Campaigns, Crisis Communication, and Professional PR Portfolio.
By joining PRSSA, students will be able to pair their academic education with experience, achievements and networking. With the addition of the TAMU-CC Chapter, PRSSA has added a total of nine new Chapters in 2024. This adds to the tally of PRSSA Chapters across the U.S., as well as in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico.
