Elyse Hammett, APR

Elyse Hammett
As chair of PRSA's national marketing committee for Accreditation, Elyse’s zeal to tell the APR story is palpable. A member of the Society since the late 90’s, Elyse earned her Accreditation in 2000 and has used its methodologies to catapult her career.

Elyse honed her skills in positions of increasing responsibility and scope at Emory Healthcare and BellSouth until changing her seat to the agency side of the desk in 2005. She and two marketing colleagues opened a firm and over the next decade, Elyse served Fortune firms including her former employers as well as AT&T, Centex Homes, Disney On Ice, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey, Feld Entertainment, and Home Depot. She’s won numerous awards from the American Hospital Marketing Association, Public Relations Society of America and the National Telecom Marketing Association. Elyse successfully sold her firm, Eos, in 2012, and completed the buy-out in 2015. She then went to work for a client, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, where she leads marketing and communications for the billion-dollar community endowment.

Elyse has trained more than 100 practitioners in the values of Accreditation since 2005, when she and colleague Elizabeth McMillian, APR, began hosting evening study groups to move Georgia from an APR laggard to an APR leader. She has also served on PRSA Georgia’s board in various roles, ultimately serving as the president of the second largest PRSA chapter in the nation in 2017. She also serves on the board of COMMA, the community foundation industry’s association, leads marketing for CFON – the organization founded by community foundations to work across the country to eliminate income inequality, and is on the host committee for The Communications Network.
