Milton Howery III

Milton Howery III, aka "Milton Memphis," is a writer, publicist, creative, music entertainment and tourism professional, and a Memphis native. He's spent the last 16 years working in the entertainment and tourism industry. Milton is currently the Vice President of Marketing at Memphis Tourism and spent several years as Public Relations Director for Memphis Tourism, generating international and domestic media exposure for Memphis. Milton played a critical role in securing Memphis' placement in Time Magazine Top 100 Destination in 2021.
He’s the founder of Milton Memphis Entertainment (MME), known for producing events like The Link Up Memphis and various concerts and events. In 2015 he served as the Promotions Manager and Public Spokesperson for outdoor-focused retail corporation Bass Pro Shops. Milton aided the company in opening Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid, one of the largest pyramids in the world that features a luxury hotel, restaurants, and retail space. He also currently serves on the Memphis PRSA Board as the past President and former Executive Committee member for the Public Relations Society of America Travel & Tourism Section.
Milton got his start in entertainment in 2007, working for Bott Radio Network and later being hired by Entercom Communications Corporations as the Morning Show Producer for the Mike and Mandy Morning Show on WRVR The River 104.5FM. From 2009 to 2014, he also hosted a weekly radio show on WUMR U-92FM, The Jazz Lover. Milton received his education from the University of Memphis and Southwest Tennessee Community College. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and an Associate's Degree in Computer Engineering, receiving both degrees simultaneously in May of 2011. That same year Black Entertainment Television (BET) named him their Top Marketing Intern.
In 2017 Milton received the Top 40 Under 40 Urban Elite Professionals Award, which honors African-American rising Memphians who offer unique and innovative solutions to social problems and those who shine in their professions. In 2019 the Memphis Business Journal also awarded him with a Top 40 Under 40 award.
