Ilana Ostrin is the head of global communications at the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA), where she leads a transatlantic communications team in strategic communications, media relations, social media and digital outreach and more. She is chair of the PRSA Health Academy.

Before her tenure at PPTA, Ostrin worked in communications and editorial capacities for patient advocacy and scientific organizations. She performed various digital and traditional media tasks in these roles, including editorial planning, content strategy, event management, business development, speechwriting, change management communications and more. Her work in these roles has garnered numerous awards and honors and international speaking opportunities.

Ostrin earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota, where she studied English and Jewish Studies and was also an NCAA Division I student-athlete. She earned a graduate degree in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Trinity Washington University. She resides in Washington, D.C., where she is an active member of PRSA.
