H Walker
H joined BGCA in January 2021 and one of H's primary charters is to effectively lead a community-focused frictionless parallel strategy for Breaking Down Barriers, our commitment to addressing and dismantling racism and inequity everywhere. H will focus on creating the DEI strategy and initiatives of the Boys & Girls Club federation and its multiple distinct stakeholder groups; our local organizations and their leaders and partnering with human resources to support our national staff.
H joins Boys & Girls Clubs of America from an extended career with global brands like The Coca-Cola Company, IBM, McDonald’s Corporation, and the United States Postal Service, where he served in numerous organizational culture and diversity, equity and inclusion leadership roles in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. H’s work helped transform DEI educational experiences, corporate strategies and structures and inspired senior leaders, staff, membership organizations, franchisees and suppliers to challenge their own knowledge and truly embrace DEI as a mindset and a way of managing change.
H is steadfast in his belief that Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion strategies improve financial performance and stimulates corporate and community excitement. This "people-first, human-centered" way of life communicates that our goal is to do good.
You will see H's fingerprints on policies that enhanced corporate culture and paved the way for laws, legislation, and organizational policies in global organizations and institutions. He collaborated with community and corporate teams to write and activate policies that advanced the access to power, privilege, and opportunity to historically disenfranchised, marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved humans with a focus on youth.
H lives in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. He is a practitioner of total health and fitness; enjoys social media, music, and research. He is active in several local, national, and global community organizations. He is completing his BA/MA in Organizational Leadership at Roosevelt University and currently planning his doctoral studies. He enjoys the velocity of city life and will relocate to Atlanta in the Spring. You can learn more about H on LinkedIn and he welcomes your connection.
