Andy Whitehouse is the managing partner of Copperfield Advisory, a brand and communications consulting firm that serves founder-led, owner-run businesses. Before founding Copperfield in 2017, Andy served as the most senior communications professional in three multinational companies. He was chief communications officer of IBM, where he led a team of 600 professionals; global head of marketing, communications, and knowledge management for Willis Towers Watson, where he played a central part in the $18 billion merger of Willis Group and Towers Watson; and global communications director at McKinsey & Company.

Prior to McKinsey, Andy was a government policymaker in the United Kingdom. A member of the Civil Service Fast Stream, he led teams in the Prime Minister’s Social Exclusion Unit, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Department of Health. His policy work focused principally on tackling poverty and social exclusion in England.

Andy is an assistant professor at Columbia University's MS in Strategic Communication program, where he teaches political communications and crisis management. He is a graduate of Oxford and Harvard, and a recipient of the Distinguished Friend of Oxford University award.
