Job Title: Communications Intern
Location: Remote
Duration: 10-12 Hours Per Week for up to one year
Compensation: $10/hour + school credits by request
About Us:
The Israel Guide Dog Center is dedicated to improving the lives of Israelis through the faithful assistance of highly skilled and trained guide dogs. Our amazing dogs provide mobility, independence, dignity, and self-confidence to Israelis who are blind or visually impaired, suffering from PTSD, or living with emotional or developmental challenges, regardless of their religion. The USA office is based in Warrington, PA and includes a small, nimble team that raises funds, engages donors and volunteers in the United States, and connects Americans with the mission and Center in Israel.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated, creative, and enthusiastic Communications Intern to help us amplify our message and engage with the public. You will support our communications efforts by assisting in the development and creation of press materials and an advertising strategy. You’ll gain valuable experience in digital marketing, public relations, and content strategy.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Media Relations: Prepare a media list and press kits. Initiate relationships with journalists and influencers to introduce the Israel Guide Dog Center
- Content Creation: Write press releases and articles targeted to specific audiences (Mitzvah teens, older adults, animal lovers, synagogues) as well as draft social media posts that will generate earned/organic clicks
- Advertising: Recommend a strategy for print and digital ads including timing, placement
location, pricing, audience, and methodology
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Able to work independently
- Interested in nonprofit work and Israeli humanitarian needs
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, or related tools
- Familiar with media outreach or experience in PR
