Embracing an Ageism-Free Workplace

As communication professionals whose work shapes perceptions and influences decision-making, PRSA’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion represents vitally needed progress.
As noted in its mission statement, PRSA’s DEI Committee is devoted to building consciousness by increasing visibility of DEI standards, resources and best practices for racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation and gender differences, as well as diverse skill sets, mindsets and cultures at all levels of the organization.
Among many ways unacceptable discrimination can manifest itself, the “last acceptable ism” — ageism — continues to negatively impact the advancement of our profession in subtle but significant ways.
