How Leaders Can Create Meaningful Connections

Today’s leaders often get elevated into their roles because they possess a specific subject-matter expertise, but one skill that may not receive as much attention is whether or not the leader is a good communicator.
To be successful, today’s leaders are expected to communicate effectively and efficiently in a wide variety of situations.
The recently released 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer shows that, in today’s polarized world, businesses are the only trusted institution (as compared to NGOs, government and the media) and CEOs are among one of the most trusted sources of information. These findings highlight the opportunity today’s leaders have to use strong communication skills to build trust and connection with key stakeholders.
Developing skills in these four areas can help leaders increase their communications confidence both inside and outside their organizations.
