Making the Shift to a Flexible Staffing Model

If you’re like us, then you likely pay attention to the monthly jobs reports and keep an eye on news of today’s economic volatility, especially as it impacts the labor market. These discussions surrounding the uncertainty — Will there be a recession or a soft landing? Will companies continue with layoffs due to overhiring in 2021 and 2022? — are enough to make any business leader nervous about bringing on new full-time hires.
This is particularly evident in our profession. In a recent analysis of its 2022 job requisitions and applications, Workday found the communications, media and technology industries were among those most impacted by layoffs and hiring slowdowns, though they were also the most attractive (and competitive) to applicants.
