PRSA Announces Shortlist for 2022 Anvil Awards; Registration Continues for ICON 2022

PRSA recently unveiled the shortlist for the 2022 Anvil Awards, which recognize and honor the best communications programs planned and executed each year.

More than 151 campaigns across 65 categories and subcategories have been named to the shortlist, comprising Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil entries, with submissions from leading brands, agencies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and universities. The most entered categories include Integrated Communications, Media Relations and Events and Observances.

This year’s ceremony, which will include the presentation of both Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil Awards, takes place on May 19 at the New York City’s Edison Ballroom. From each Anvil category’s shortlist, one Anvil winner and up to one runner-up will be announced during the event. PRSA will also present the “Best Of” Silver Anvil.

Registration Continues for ICON 2022

Registration is open for ICON 2022, PRSA’s annual conference, which will include both in-person and virtual programming options.  

ICON 2022 takes place Nov. 13-15 in Grapevine, Texas. Our headquarters hotel for PRSA and PRSSA will be the one-of-a-kind Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, where we’ll celebrate PRSA’s 75th Anniversary.

The conference will present top-notch thought leaders, an extensive array of breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and more. Academy Award-winning actress and activist Marlee Matlin and journalist and anchor Katty Kay have been announced as keynote speakers.

PRSA recently named four honorary co-chairs: Sabrina Browne, vice president, corporate affairs, BCW; Robert T. Hastings, APR+M, Fellow PRSA, executive vice president, marketing and communications, Bell Textron Inc.; Juan-Carlos Molleda, Ph.D., dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, University of Oregon; and Patrice A. Tanaka, founder and chief joy officer, Joyful Planet LLC.

Board Applications Due Soon

Applications for the 2023 Board of Directors are due on May 24. 

PRSA is seeking candidates to fill three officer positions as well as director positions for five Districts and one Director-At-Large position.

Board members meet and closely collaborate with colleagues on the local, regional and national levels, supporting efforts to champion PRSA and amplifying our value with members. Their duties and responsibilities include fiscal oversight, helping guide and oversee PRSA’s strategic vision and goals, enhancing membership growth and serving as the face of the organization, among many other projects and programs.
