PRSA Releases Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Plan
June 2020
PRSA recently unveiled the 2020-2022 Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Plan.
This three-year plan will help PRSA achieve targeted milestones and position the Society as a model for the communications profession, reflecting exemplary leadership in diversity and inclusion.
The plan is the result of a research initiative based on three phases of qualitative and quantitative data collection, including interviews, focus groups and a survey.
The overarching goal supports four objectives:
- Increase awareness and understanding of PRSA as a diverse and inclusive organization among its members and staff by 15 percent by 2023.
- Increase diverse representation among leadership throughout all levels of PRSA by 25 percent by 2023.
- Increase awareness of PRSA as a diverse and inclusive organization among external stakeholders by 15 percent by 2023.
- Increase and retain the number of multicultural students in PRSSA and new multicultural professionals into PRSA by 15 percent by 2023.
PRSA established these initiative-focused metrics to ensure leadership accountability and long-term success. To measure the achievements, PRSA leaders will use comparative measurement of 2019 internal benchmark survey responses and a new survey to internal and external stakeholders in order to gauge perceptions of PRSA’s D&I engagement.
This new strategic plan represents a “shared model” for action. Together, PRSA is embarking on a journey that is purposeful, intentional and consistent, pushing thoughtful efforts and actions as we call on you to bring our vision to reality.
