Marlene Neill, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA (photo)

Marlene Neill, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, is an associate professor and graduate program director at Baylor University. She teaches courses in public relations and advertising. She also serves as the faculty adviser for the Baylor University PRSSA Chapter.

Her research interests include public relations management and ethics. She has published more than 30 journal articles and three books on public relations ethics and leadership.

Marlene is an Accredited member of the Central Texas Chapter of PRSA. She served as the chair for the PRSA Southwest District in 2011. At the national level, Neill is currently serving on the Universal Accreditation Board, which administers the examination for Accreditation in Public Relations, and she was appointed to the PRSA Board of Ethics & Professionals Standards (BEPS) from January 2013 to December 2018.

Marlene received her Ph.D. in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, her master of arts degree in journalism from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and her bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.

She previously worked for 10 years in government public relations at the City of Waco, 1.5 years in nonprofit public relations at the Waco Family YMCA and 3.5 years at KCEN-TV as a reporter.
