Vice President of Career Services
Megan vanVollenhoven
Megan vanVollenhoven, the 2024-2025 Vice President of Career Services, is a senior studying public relations at the University of South Carolina. She has a dual minor in music industry studies and informatics.
vanVollenhoven has been involved with PRSSA since her freshman year of college. Last year she served as the National Vice President of Professional Development where she supported ethics programming and student-run firms. Before her time on the National Committee she served as the Vice President of Membership for the USC chapter. In this role she helped USC PRSSA increase their membership by over 50%.
Outside of PRSSA, vanVollenhoven has served as a director for The Carolina Agency, USC’s student run firm. She has also been a Peer Leader for University 101, a course where she helped first year students transition to college. Additionally, vanVollenhoven has been a leader of the Carolina Judicial Council, her Panhellenic Sorority, and the Gamecocks Club Field Hockey team.
Throughout her collegiate career, vanVollenhoven has held many internship positions. This summer she works as a Communications Intern at Delta Airlines. In this role she supports the Airport Customer Service department and has learned about the importance of internal communications. vanVollenhoven has also interned for the School of Music and its partner theater, the Koger Center, during the spring 2023 semester. From May 2022 to May 2023, she served as a social media insights analyst for Chernoff Newman, an integrated communications agency. Through her own internship experience vanVollenhoven has learned the importance of professionalism and personal development. She is excited to use these experiences to better support students on their professional journey in this new role on the National Committee.
In her spare time, vanVollenhoven can be found playing intramural sports with friends or planning her next vacation. She loves to travel and studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain during the summer of 2023. She is really looking forward to continuing her leadership on the National Committee as the 2024-2025 Vice President of Career Services and helping students build connections and launch their careers.
