Sankalp Sharma

Sankalp Sharma, PRSSA 2024-2025 Immediate Past President and PRSA Board Liaison, recently graduated from Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California, where he majored in public relations.

Sankalp (San) Sharma is a Public Relations Associate at EMC Communications, where he works with various clients focusing on advocacy and government relations. Sharma is a recent graduate of California State University, Sacramento, where he majored in public relations, earning cum laude honors. During his time in college, Sharma was elected National President of PRSSA.  Sharma has been involved in PRSSA since his first week of college and has been involved in the organization at every different level, making him a recipient of the PRSSA Gold Key Award. 

Before joining EMC Communications, Sharma worked at FINN Partners, where his main focus was education and advocacy. Sharma developed a love for politics while working for the California Department of Social Services, where he worked in communications for Civil Court cases. Being involved at a young age, his professional experience ranges from government to education and technology. 

Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Sharma is involved in his community and has written two books that raise awareness about social injustices and inequalities, donating the revenue to charity. He also wrote the preface for David Grossman's newest book, "Heart First for Emerging Leaders."
